With inclusion and integration in mind, SEATPLY, since 2016, has employed over 40 Syrian newcomers to Canada with beneficial results to both parties. SEATPLY’s President and CEO, Levon Afeyan, an immigrant himself, has emphasized the importance of hiring these new Canadians as a means of putting behind them the horrible experience of war and instilling in them the feeling of self-worth. Over 30 of these new hires are still with SEATPLY and are fully integrated members of the team. Others were encouraged to stay until they found suitable employment within their field of expertise.
In January 2019, the Honourable Ahmed D. Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship along with Emmanuella Lambropoulos MP for the federal riding of Saint-Laurent visited SEATPLY to discuss with Afeyan the success he has had with the integration and employment of these new Canadians. Mr. Hussen praised Afeyan for the efforts made to hire the Syrian newcomers and applauded SEATPLY for being a role model to all Canadian businessmen.
